The Mission of the Concord Historical Society

In relation to the City of Concord, California, and its vicinity, the basic and primary objectives of the Concord Historical Society are to discover, create, and conserve buildings, artifacts, and materials of interest, significance, and value, and to discover, preserve, and disseminate knowledge of the history of the City of Concord, California, and its vicinity.

 

Help Preserve Concord History

A Non-Profit 501(C)3 organization, the Concord Historical Society depends on its members, volunteers, and community donors to support its programs.

They are interested in acquiring and preserving records, images, maps, books and publications, newspapers, artwork and objects relating to individuals, structures and any activities and enterprises in the region mentioned below.:

• Clyde (company town – lumber mill)

• Cowell (company town – portland cement)

• Naval Weapons Station – Concord

• Nichols (company town – chemical plant)

• Buchanan Field Airport (Concord Army Airfield)
